Hi Sara: More to get a extra fan (aftermarket) for the video card, I would recommend getting a new HD 2600XT graphics card because he is very old already. Apart from that, for demanding games, I also want to suggest to get at least an extra GB of RAM, and change your Vista 32-63 bit, is very stable, strong, and is the best choice among a crowd of hardcore gamers. The fan that the type BestBuy told you, is not really necessary, unless you were doing fine overclocking CPU or GPU.
