What's the differance between playing xbox 360 games on hard drive or from disc?
I downloaded Modern Warefare2 onto my hard drive thinking it would save my disc drive or laser some abuse. Is it better to play from the hard drive so your disc drive doesn't have to work so hard? I also noticed it is quieter when I do play from hard drive.
Pro:
Less movement of internal parts.
Less wear and tear on system and disk.
Less heat production because of less movement.
Lesser loading times of the games.
Sometimes is able to help fix some known glitches because it doesn't have to load from the disk.
Con:
Loss of some hard drive space.
Halo 3 and the Halo Mythic Disk that comes with ODST both are worse and load slower when installed to the hard drive.
Something to keep in mind:
Still need the disk in the system, otherwise game won't play.
